✨ New Book + TEDx Talk...

Greetings!

I hope and pray you all are doing well!

It has been several months since I sent out a newsletter.

I was feeling a bit exhausted after publishing the last book 40 Sufi Comics - Vol 3. Whenever I sat to write, the words would feel very artificial and forced, which is not how I wanted to share.

So I took a step back and allowed myself to not send out any new content. But this break turned out longer that I had planned! 😔

However, there’s also some good news. While I was away I continued working on the lastest work, Sufi Comics: Journey in Grace, and I’m excited to share it just got completed! 😀 🥳.

The new book is different from our previous books

Our earlier books were collections of short stories. Forty of them in a volume, and each story was complete in itself. You could open to any page, take one idea from it, and close the book.

This new book is the story of a single life, told in order from beginning to end. Each chapter builds on the one before it, so it is meant to be read the way you would read a novel.

It is also a true story. It follows the life of a spiritual teacher Hajj Mustafa (David Sterling) whose experiences are extraordinary.

I will share more about the book, how it came to be and how you can get a copy, over the coming weeks. For now I would like to give you the opening chapter.

The story starts in 1939, when David’s parents fled Poland on foot from the Holocaust and walked four thousand kilometers to Tashkent, where Muslim families took them in…

1. Beginnings

Have you questioned what you were taught?

There was a stretch in my own life when I started questioning everything I had been taught about religion.

• Does God exist?

• How do I know?

• What if everything I’ve beend told are just made up stories?

The questions were hard, I did not have good answers for them, and things that had always felt comfortable to me stopped feeling comfortable.

I did not enjoy that period while I was in it. But it led me to a much better understanding of faith and religion, and I am grateful for it now.

If you have been through something similar, I think you will recognize yourself in this story.

It feels good to be sending this newsletter again, and I hope to keep it going!
